About this site

An independent, non-advocacy reference on CalExit: what the California independence movement is, the arguments for and against, and what the polling shows.

CalExit.org is an independent, informational reference on the California independence movement — it does not advocate for or against secession, any candidate, ballot measure, or political party.

What this site is

CalExit.org exists to explain the California independence movement clearly and evenhandedly: what it is, the case its proponents and opponents each make, and what the polling actually shows. It is a reference, not a campaign.

Who publishes it

The site is published by Charles McGuinness. The site is independent — not affiliated with, funded by, or endorsing any of the organizations it describes.

Privacy

This site sets no cookies of its own, serves no ads, and embeds no third-party trackers or social widgets.

For traffic statistics it uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-first: it relies on a lightweight script but no cookies or other client-side storage, does not fingerprint you by IP address or browser, and does not track individuals across sites or over time. It reports aggregate figures — page views, visits, referrers — not profiles of visitors.

The site is hosted on Cloudflare’s network. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes each request — including your IP address — to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, and may set strictly necessary security cookies in the process. That data is handled under Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
